System Requirements for TalkingPoint & Dragon NaturallySpeaking Products
All TalkingPoint products:- Operating Systems
- Windows 2000 with service Pack 4 or higher, Windows XP with service pack 1/2, (windows NT, millennium and 98 require written confirmation from us before proceeding)
- Windows Sound system enabled
- Full local administrative rights for installation and commissioning
For TalkingPoint user PC/laptop:-
- 250 MB free space on the root drive (usually C:)
- 100 MB of extra free space per user for backup of speech files
- 1 GHz processor (more recommended)
- 1 GB of memory
- USB port for microphone
For TalkingPoint administration PC:-
- 250 MB free space on the root drive (usually C:)
- 100 MB of extra free space for Author speech files on local drive
- 1 GHz processor (higher recommended)
- 1 GB of memory
- USB port for foot pedals
- Soundcard for headset (sound out required)
For TalkingPoint Recorder (Digital dictation without speech recognition) :-
- 256 MB of RAM
- 100 MB free space on the installation drive for TalkingPoint products
- USB port for microphone or soundcard for microphone (sound in required)
For TalkingPoint Audio-Typing (transcription without speech recognition) :-
- 256 MB of RAM
- 100 MB free space on the installation drive for TalkingPoint products
- USB port for foot pedals and soundcard for headset (sound out required)
For TalkingPoint SmartPedals:-
- Single USB port
Network requirements:-
- A shared folder on the network server permanently mapped to a drive letter
- 100 MB of free space per speech recognition user
- Sufficient space to store .wav file recordings (11,025 kHz 16-bit mono format)
